Most of the time running a small business, it's a party for one. Despite the fact I chat to lots of other creatives online, I've never met any of my Instagram / Twitter friends in real life. Until now... I put on my big girl pants and headed to Spark in York on Saturday (29 September) for the first York Creative Meet Up.
The meet up was focused on photography for autumn / Christmas, and who better to host the event than Emma Appleyard and Kayti Peschke?! We were spoilt with a whole host of Photo Boards and props, from the cutest tiny pumpkins to issues of Kayti's magazine Caboodle, and given time to take as many photos of our products as we wanted to.
I'll be honest though, I spent less time taking photographs than I did getting to know the wonderful Jules from Now Then Sunshine, who I've been friends with online for probably over a year now. (That's me on the left and Jules on the right.)
We loved discovering Spark, which is a really cool new collection of places to eat, drink and shop, made of shipping containers. We took time to enjoy a drink in the tiny 4swings bar (I've always loved a swing) and treating ourselves to a slice of delicious pizza at Dough Eyed.
Next time, I probably need to do less eating and more chatting, but I had a blast!
A big thank you to Emma and Kayti, not only for organising but for taking the photos featured in this post. If you fancy joining in with the next York Creative Meet up, check out their Facebook group.
